Sin never enriches anyone’s life, regardless of whether they are a Christian. Scripture commands Christians to remain sober-minded, leaving no room for dangerous illicit drug use, even in small amounts.

In theological, historical, and early medical contexts, the term pharmakeia (Greek: φαρμακεία) historically encompassed the administration of mind-altering potions, sorcery, poisoning, and non-therapeutic drug use. In modern analytical terms, substances traditionally grouped under this heading represent potent psychoactive alkaloids and their artificial analogs characterized by high potential for dependence, cognitive impairment, or psychological alteration.

Some U.S. states have enough common sense to ensure many bad drugs are classified as illegal.

Naturally Derived Alkaloids and Cannabinoids

The list goes on. You could easily spend the rest of your life reading about extremely dangerous plants and their toxic components.

Synthetic and Semi-Synthetic Derivatives

Advancements in chemical synthesis have yielded non-natural analogs modeled closely on botanical psychoactive structures, often designed to maximize potency, bioavailability..

Classification & Scope: Synthetically manufactured substances designed to mimic or amplify the binding profiles of botanical alkaloids (e.g., diacetylmorphine/heroin, fentanyl, synthetic cannabinoids, synthetic cathinones).
Pharmacological Profile: Often exhibit an exponential increase in binding affinity relative to their plant-derived predecessors. Because these compounds bypass natural metabolic regulators and are formulated in non-equilibrated concentrations, they possess high toxicity profiles and heightened lethality.

There are many in this world that would like you to think that some of these harmful substances are actually beneficial for you. I should know, I was one of them. Do not listen to them, or heed their advice. Your eternal future depends on it.

In Genesis, God created herbs for sustenance ("meat"), but not all of these plants and / or their components are good for your eternal soul. There are both helpful and harmful compounds found in nature and produced in scientific laboratories.

I was an absolute fool in the past and used pharmakeia. Sin will never add to your life, you will gain nothing good from sin. Please do not be an active participant in your own destruction, because God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth!
