Genesis 5:5-24
Updated: Nov 27
Genesis 5:1
This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.
1 Timothy 2:13-15
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived; but the woman, being deceived, was in the transgression. Notwithstanding, she shall be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobermindedness.
“Jesus, the son of God is enthroned in glory. He is righteous and Holy, everyone who loves Him will desire to be with Him and see His glory, and continuously desire fellowship with Him. The riches and the fullness of God, who is Spirit, dwells in Him in bodily form. He is beautiful to me beyond comparison. I love Him and I am very thankful for those that do as well. It is good for believing women who are married to be homemakers and bear children.”
Genesis 5:2
He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.
“One day, when we are caught up to be with our blessed Lord and Savior who not only saved us from unrighteousness, but delivered us from the wrath to come, we will be like the angels, neither male nor female, we will be pure and spotless, clothed in resurrected bodies like His. We will be His sanctified beloved.”
Galations 3:27-29
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
"Our Living God, is the God of Order, and according to His order in the church it is good for a woman not to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to rather learn in silence."
2 Timothy 2:9-12
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
"I am convinced that there have and will be many who were women on this earth that are very great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Let's remember all of those faithful women mentioned in the scriptures who died in Christ, and are now with Him face to face in spiritual bodies. They too will be ressurected in His likeness, and clothed with new glorified bodies."
1 Peter 4:14-19
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
“I have suffered as a thief, as an evildoer, and as a busybody in the lives of others in the past. I would encourage you to meekly accept the Word of Life, believing the scriptures in your heart so that you might obey these words inspired of the Spirit of God, and written by the hand of Peter who was a first hand eye witness of Jesus' glory. Abide on the narrow road.
The Lord Our Righteousness is full of grace and mercy, and abounding with compassion. He has placed the transgression of those who fear Him as far as the east is from the west. His love is beyond searching out. He is full of grace and truth. Every man who loves Him will desire to obey His commandments because they are not burdensome. Help us Lord Jesus because you are our Rock of Refuge. I need His help daily. Let all who love Him depart from iniquity.”
Genesis 5:3
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.
“Women who love the Lord Jesus, and do not have the gift of singleness should be married. Seth's son Enosh reminded people of the prophecy made to Adam and Eve of the promised Messiah who would bring salvation; meaning He would be able to forgive iniquity, blot out transgression once and for all, and set people free from slavery to sin. That is Jesus, who loves us. He is Lord enthroned in glory!"
Genesis 4:25-26
And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.
Here's where the Lord Our Righteousness prophesied of Himself, and cursed the serpant of old, Satan, the father of lies, who came to steal, kill and destroy. Satan was defeated at the cross once and for all when Jesus paid the perfect penalty for sin.
Genesis 3:15
"And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
"Notice how the word 'Seed' is singular, this is reffering to Jesus who was born of a virgin. He is the Apostle of Our Faith, and the High Priest of our confession, not after the order of Levi, but after the order of Melchezidek."
Hebrews 3:1-6
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
"Let's look how Jesus responded to scribes who questioned Him concerning the Law of Moses."
Mark 12:28-37
Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. ’This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”
But after that no one dared question Him.
Then Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David? For David himself said by the Holy Spirit:
‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ’
Therefore David himself calls Him ‘Lord’; how is He then his Son?”
And the common people heard Him gladly.
Matthew 16:13-17
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
"Jesus is the Chief Corner Stone, the stone that the builders rejected. He is elect and precious in our eyes. Only through Him can a man be born again, not only of water and blood, but of water and blood and the Spirit of the Living God. These three testify of Him, that He is The Ressurection and the Life."
Proverbs 27:6
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
"The Judas, whom the scripture says it would have been better had he never been born betrayed the Messiah of Israel, the King of kings and Lord of lords with a kiss. Take a look at Jesus' words below in the Gospel of John."
John 15:13-17
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.
"Here is a prophecy about the future in heaven."
Revelation 4:5-7
And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
"These four beasts, that were created by God, testified to His glory. Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. We are reminded that He is and was rightfully the King of the Jews in the passage below."
Matthew 27:35-44
When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews. Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
"This scripture below is one that I have often needed to be reminded of in the past. The Lord has shown me mercy in spite of my many shortcomings."
Galations 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
1 Peter 2:18-25
Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
“Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
"The four beasts that are mentioned below, that are like angelic beings, are faithful servants of the Living God. God is Spirit and whomever worships Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth."
Revelation 4:8-11
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
"The four and twenty elders mentioned in the prophecy above are righteous men made perfect, and they were worshipping God. He created all things. Jesus said, if you have seen me, you have seen the Father, I and the Father are One. He is the Yes and Amen, the Faithful Witness and ruler over Kings and princes of the earth. Jesus is the perfect passover lamb who is without spot or blemish."
I John 4:12-13
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
"John, the disciple of Jesus saw the glory of God. Who else would any righteous man worship who sit's on a throne other than God? He alone is worthy of worship. Let's remember that Enoch and Elijah, like John were great prophets, and were counted as righteous through faith in Jesus, the Messiah of Israel."
Genesis 5:4
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
Psalm 127:3-5
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
Genesis 5:5-24 NKJV
“So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died. Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot Enosh. After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died. Enosh lived ninety years, and begot Cainan. After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died. Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel. After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died. Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared. After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died. Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch. After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died. Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
"Enoch was caught up to be with God in a similar manner that the believing remnant, His body, the church, will be caught up to be with Him. (1 Thessaloanians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52). When His faithful church, His remnant, is caught up to be with Him, those who love Him will be clothed in resurrected bodies like His. His promises are first to those who are ethnically Jewish, they are chosen and special in His sight. This is how we can understand election. Jesus the Son of God and Son of Man, in whom the fullness of God dwells in bodily form is Lord; and He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except by Him. Believing gentiles are considered Jews inwardly, and grafted into the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." (Reference Romans 11:11-31)
Romans 2:28-29
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
"Jude, who was a true bondservant of Jesus Christ and the brother of James spoke of Enoch in his epistle below. It is good to be reminded of His Living Word that saves the lives of the hearers."
The Epistle of Jude
Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless. Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.
Genesis 5:25-32 NKJV
Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech. After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died. Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.” After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died. And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.”
"The Lamech mentioned in the verse above was a prophet. He lived a long life, and I think He may have been a very christ-like man. Seven is often refferred to as the number of perfection or completion in the Bible. He lived 777 years which stands in opposition, to the number of the mark of the beast which is 666. Much of the world will worship the anti-christ in the future, known as the man of sin, in place of Jesus the Son of God, receive the mark of the beast and be damned eternally because of it.
Here are some beautiful words written by the apostle Paul who suffered greatly for Jesus Christ, the Messiah of Israel."
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
“All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. He who knew know sin became sin for us, that we might inherit the righteousness of God. After He rose again from the dead He testified of Himself to over 40 witnesses. I love that He appeared to Mary Magdalene first, who lovingly washed His feet with her tears and anointed Him for burial. Jesus loves you, and He will not leave you as orphans He will come to you! If you have been foolish call out to Him and return to Him."
Romans 10:10-13
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
No one can confess "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:3)
“I appreciate your prayers. Remember, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The Christian Bible is the Final Authority. Thank you, and God bless. (John 14:26-29)”
Psalm 116:6-19
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
19 In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
