An Eternal Foundation that does not fade away

God's Word is in bold.

"When we remember Jesus' virgin birth, we remember that the wise men brought Him gold because He is the conquering King, the Son of David. Let's look at the promise made to David by Nathan the prophet. David was also a king, prophet, and a priest before the One and only Most High God.”

2 Samuel 7:12-14a

“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son."

"This scripture above is a direct prophecy relating to the Messiah, the Son of David. While Solomon, David's direct descendant, was able to build a temple to the Lord in Jerusalem; God's only begotten Son, who is also considered the Son of David, was born of a virgin in Bethlehem of Judea. He is the better fulfillment of this prophecy because He is the foundation of a new and better covenant. He is the foundation of a better house, not built by hands."

1 Peter 2:4-6

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

“Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”

"Jesus, who is the fullness of God in bodily form, is the Chief Cornerstone and the foundation of a better covenant than the law of Moses, which in and of itself could never justify a person before the One True God of Israel. He took on flesh, was completely familiar with our weakness, and yet completely righteous and without sin."

John 4:7-11

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 Peter 2:7-10

Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,

“The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.”

They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

2 Samuel 7:14b-15

"If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.

"This scripture above, 2 Samuel 7:14b-15, is speaking of David's son Solomon. The Lord heard Solomon's request for wisdom, and granted it to him in abundance."

1 Kings 3:4-15

Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place: Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”

And Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

Then Solomon awoke; and indeed it had been a dream. And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.

"Jesus, who declared Himself to be equal with God, yet willingly took upon Himself the form of a servant prophesied of His own death, His burrial and His ressurection in advance to those who did not believe. He spoke rightly that He Himself is far greater than Solomon. There is truly no one like Him. Here are His words below."

Matthew 12:40-42

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.

2 Samuel 7:16

And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”

"David will be resurrected and serve before the Lord eternally, as will all those who are His. Jesus, the conquering King, will reign from Mount Zion, which is now the old-city of David in Jerusalem, and His people will inherit the boundaries of the land promised to Israel below."

Ezekiel 47:13-23

Thus says the Lord God: “These are the borders by which you shall divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph shall have two portions. You shall inherit it equally with one another; for I raised My hand in an oath to give it to your fathers, and this land shall fall to you as your inheritance.

“This shall be the border of the land on the north: from the Great Sea, by the road to Hethlon, as one goes to Zedad, Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim (which isbetween the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath), to Hazar Hatticon (which is on the border of Hauran). Thus the boundary shall be from the Sea to Hazar Enan, the border of Damascus; and as for the north, northward, it is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.

“On the east side you shall mark out the border from between Hauran and Damascus, and between Gilead and the land of Israel, along the Jordan, and along the eastern side of the sea. This is the east side.

“The south side, toward the South, shall be from Tamar to the waters of Meribah by Kadesh, along the brook to the Great Sea. This is the south side, toward the South.

“The west side shall be the Great Sea, from the southern boundary until one comes to a point opposite Hamath. This is the west side.

“Thus you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,” says the Lord God.

"Jesus, the Son of God, is enthroned at the right hand of God in heavenly places. One day He will establish His kingdom on this earth. He is not slack as others count slackness. He will fulfill all His promises in His word, He is faithful."

“The wise men brought Him frankincense because He is a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

Psalm 110:4

The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

"And they brought Him Myrrh because they knew that there are prophecies that speak of Him and His garments scented with such."

Psalm 45:6-8

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.

All Your garments are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia, Out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made You glad.

Mark 15:23

And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.

"Paul, while being inspired by the Spirit of the Living God, who is One, spoke of Jesus who is The Mediator of the new covenant of His own blood. The new covenant speaks better things than the blood that was shed of Abel. Abel was murdered because his works were righteous, yet Jesus the Son of God willingly gave His Life to pay the penalty for sin once and for all. He too was hated, and still is today because He is King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the ruler of kings and princes of the earth, and the Lord of those who choose to depart from iniquity and look upon Him as the propitiation for sin. Meaning, He is our passover lamb, who is without spot or blemish. He is rich to all who call upon Him, and is also known as the Lord Our Righteousness. He said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except by Me. The road to Life is narrow, and few find it, but broad is the road that leads to destruction. God’s Word is Living, still speaks, and bears fruit.

Galatians 2:17-19

“But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God.

“Jesus the Messiah of Israel who is without beginning of days or end of life is Eternal Life. He was born of a virgin."

Speaking in his letter to the church at Ephesus, to those who were gentiles, meaning non Jews ethnically; he spoke the following:”

Ephesians 2:11-13

Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

“God loves His chosen people Israel, yet He who is a Jew is a Jew inwardly. Circumcision is of the heart, by faith in the Messiah of Israel. Remember, all mortal men are born separated from God. According to the law of Moses, all mortal men are without hope apart from Jesus. He is the Living Hope of all who through faith walk near Him.”

Ephesians 2:14-18

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

“He is the Prince of peace, and the Wonderful Counselor. The wise men may very well have been familiar with this prophecy in Isaiah when they chose to Honor God by honoring His only begotten Son. He is The Resurrection and the Life.”

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

"He said my peace I give you…”

John 14:25-27

“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

“Jesus, who is the Christ, abolished in His flesh the veil that separated gentiles from the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; that through His seed all nations of the world would be blessed. The word seed is singular here and speaking of Jesus, who not only was born of a virgin; but is also risen from the dead. He is the First Born of the Dead."

Galatians 3:16-17

Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.

Matthew 27:50-54

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

"We must also remember no man, whether Jew or gentile can be justified as holy before God through the Law of Moses. Job, and every righteous man in scripture was justified before God by faith in the Messiah of Israel."

Job 19:25-27

For I know that my Redeemer lives,

And He shall stand at last on the earth;

And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,

That in my flesh I shall see God,

Whom I shall see for myself,

And my eyes shall behold, and not another.

How my heart yearns within me!

"In His flesh, He condemned sinful flesh once and for all by fulfilling the Law of Moses, and mediated a better covenant not only between God and man, but between Jew and gentile."

Hebrews 8:7-13

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

"He preached peace to those who were far off and to those who were near.

Speaking of those that were far off:”

Mark 2:13-17

Then He went out again by the sea; and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them. As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.

Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi’s house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

“And speaking to those that were close to the kingdom of heaven, near to the commonwealth of Israel and covenants of promise, through obedience to the Law of Moses whether Jew or gentile; because although a person can be considered blessed through a form of righteousness according to the Law of Moses, a person can never be justified by God apart from His own Son, the Messiah of Israel. A person must be born again to inherit the true righteousness of God."

1 Timothy 1:8-11

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

“Many Jews who previously sought justification before God, through the Law of Moses, inherited faith through belief in His Name. One day, the whole nation of Israel will be saved. (Zechariah 12:10)

Galatians 2:20-21

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

“If you have chosen to depart from iniquity and have believed in His Name, you can consider yourself crucified with Christ, buried with Him in death, and risen with Him in newness of Life, and seated with Him in heavenly places. Your life is hidden in Christ, and when He appears, you will appear with Him in glory. In Christ you are a new creation, old things have past, behold all things have been made new. You are His workmanship, created in Christ for good works, that He created in advance. What do you have except that you have received? He is the fullness of Grace and Truth, and has lavished grace upon grace to those who have called upon Him in faith. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. Jesus became the power of the law, sin, on the cross so that you might inherit the righteousness of God. He paid the perfect penalty for your sin once and for all, so that you might walk uprightly before Him in this wicked and perverse generation. He loves you."

Matthew 22:41-46

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?”

They said to Him, “The Son of David.”

He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying:

‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” ’?

If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.

"He who willingly declared Himself to be I AM in human flesh, to be the image of the invisible God, He received condemnation from many of His own, for crimes He did not commit. He said forgive them for they know not what they do. Love keeps no record of wrong."

Deuteronomy 21:22-23

And if a man has committed a crime punishable by death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.

"He became a curse for you. Moses testified of this curse through inspiration of the Spirit. It was Jesus who took on punishment for sin He was not acquainted with, being the suffering servant, and declared Himself to be the Lord and Son of David, and King of the Jews."

2 Timothy 2:19-26

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Be reminded of Jesus' words below:

John 15:13-15

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

"If you have not already believed, I would encourage you to turn from sin and believe in His death, His burial, and His resurrection. With the heart one believes that God through the power of His right arm raised Him from the dead, and with the mouth one confesses unto righteousness that ‘Jesus is Lord’.

He is rich to all those that call upon Him. He does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked, but those who reject Him, and chose sin, and rebellion rather than Him will inherit eternal destruction in the lake of fire. Why would you want that, when you can instead serve Him who is rich in mercy?

If you are far off, draw near to Him. Have faith like a child and take Him at His word. If you turned from sin and have believed in Him, you have passed from death to Life. There is One mediator between God and man, Jesus the Son of God. I would encourage you to find a church that teaches through the Christian Bible."

Psalm 50:2
