There is simplicity in Christ

A few years ago I slipped into error relating to the True Gospel that saves souls. There is simplicity in Christ.

Repent of your sin, believe in the Name of Jesus and be Saved. Yes, He is coming back quickly. He can come back for your life at anytime and judge you for your deeds.

He is coming back for His Holy Spotless Bride at the last (seventh) trumpet. I hope you believe in the resurrection of the dead.

See these glorious words of Jesus’ faithful disciple Matthew:

The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, saying: “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.”

Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at His teaching. (Matthew 22:22–33, NKJV, https://ref.ly/Mt22.22-33;nkjv)

The Sadducees—not the Pharisees—asked Jesus about a woman who was married to seven brothers in turn, asking whose wife she would be after the resurrection.

The Question

  • The Scenario: Under the Jewish law of levirate marriage, if a married man died childless, his brother was to marry the widow to raise children for the deceased.

  • The Riddle: The Sadducees (who did not believe in life after death) described a woman whose seven husbands all died one after another without children, followed by the woman's death.

  • The Test: They asked Jesus whose wife she would be in the resurrection, attempting to make the concept of an afterlife sound ridiculous. You can read the full account in Matthew 22:23-45.

Jesus' Response

  • No Earthly Marriage in Heaven: Jesus stated that people do not marry or get given in marriage in the resurrection, as they are like the angels.

  • Correction of Doctrine: He rebuked the Sadducees for not knowing the Scriptures or God's power.

I would like you to understand. Apart from salvation in the Name of Jesus there is only eternal destruction in the lake of fire. There will be no hope of escape for those that die without Him.
